However, that is just scratching the surface, this monitor also boasts a refresh rate of 144 Hz for a jitters free graphics experience. Thanks to the TN panel, this monitor has one of the fastest response times of 1 ms.
TrustedReviews has given this monitor a solid 8/10, praising its image quality by saying that it delivers “Constant Solid Image Quality”.
TN panel has its drawbacks as compared to IPS panel. However, TN panel is still the better option when it comes to gaming because of its fast response times.

An average 24 inch LCD monitor can cost you anywhere between $140-$160. Although you can use a basic monitor for normal tasks, you would need to invest a bit more if you are looking for a quality thin bezel monitor. The cost of a monitor depends on several factors including (but not limited to), ports, response time, refresh rates, display size, resolution, and panel technology.

Dell has always been in the forefront of making ultra-slim bezel displays. They were not only the pioneers in making affordable slim bezel monitors, but have also made great strides with their current generation of narrow bezel monitors.
AOC and ASUS are another notable brands in this category; whereas, all other major brands have experimented with their designs at one point or another.
How Thin Can Bezels Be?
Thin bezel monitor can be pretty slim on monitors these days. Although the monitors currently still aren’t entirely “frameless”, their size can sometimes be so small that it basically gives a frameless look. The Alphascan AOC 2481, for example, has a bezel of only 2mm thickness, whereas the ASUS MX27AQ manages to fit the display on only a 0.8mm.
How to Setup Multiple Monitor Display
The way you setup multiple monitor display depends upon the which graphic card you have. First of all you need make sure that your graphic card and the game that you play support the number of display you want to setup.
As a general rule, if you have at least a mid tier graphic card, then you would at least have 3 outputs. This way you can setup up a triple monitor display easily. Your graphic card could either have multiple HDMIs or a combination of DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort. If this is the case then you are good to go. In case if your graphic card does not have 3 ports and has two, you can get a splitter. Unfortunately, splitters are not designed to support gaming.
AMD cards are the easier to setup for triple monitor display. They have a dedicated Eyefinity technology that is designed for multiple monitors. The NVIDIA counterpart to the Eyefinity is the NVIDIA Surround.
Many people prefer their monitors for multiple monitor setup to have a very narrow bezel. Moreover, they also prefer their monitors to have VESA wall mounts so that they can install their monitors on separate stands.
Response Time and Gaming – Are IPS Monitors Suitable for Gaming?
This is one of the question that Gamers often ask before choosing the IPS monitors. The fact of the matter is that most of the thin bezel monitor are designed with IPS panels. So should you desregard them? Absolutely not
IPS panels have slow response time. The best that you can get is 5ms and normally you would find IPS monitor with 5ms-8ms response time. This is quite normal. Many have no issue with this as the IPS panel does have superior color quality if you take a dollar per dollar comparison with TN. The worse of the TN panels now days; on the other hand, have 2 ms response time. The best ones, featured in the high end gaming monitors, have less than 1ms response time.
IPS panels do have wider viewing angles; however, I do not think that this feature is of any use to a gamer. Gamers usually sit directly in front of the screen and so higher viewing angles would mean little to them. The lower the response time the lower is the ghosting effect or artifacts of that you see trailing behind an object in an intense video. However, the difference between a 5ms response time and 1 ms so little that many wouldn’t even see a difference.
What in the World is G-Sync?
Although you can go into all sorts of technical details, the simple fact of the matter is that G-Sync is a proprietary solution by NVIDIA to significantly curtail the screen tearing, and ghosting. It is a screen synchronization method developed by NVIDIA. One of the more famous synchronization that we are mostly familiar with is the V-Sync (Vertical Synchronization). One of the thin bezel monitor listed here, Dell Gaming S2716DG, for example is a monitor with G-sync technology.
V-Sync Vs G-Sync
V-sync solved the screen tearing effect whenever the frame rate would go below the 60 Hz of the screen, However, in order to compensate for the screen tearing, V-Sync had the issue of screen stutter. So with V-Sync, your display FPS would be locked at 60 Hz; however, should it dip below, it would cause a screen stutter. Why? In order to understand this you need to be clear on what a screen tear and a screen stutter is.
- A screen tear occurs when the v-sync is disabled, which basically implies that the graphics on the screen contain part of the last frame and part of the current frame, this is in ideal cases. In worst cases the screen tearing would be so significant that the graphics would simply cease to exist.
- A screen stutter occurs with the V-Sync on. Say your screen has a refresh rate of 60 Hz, should the FPS fall below 60 FPS, the system would compensate by taking a repeat frame for that single frame to load. So for example, if it were to fall to 59 FPS, it would take two frames to load up the one frame, thus stopping the motion for that one extra frame, which causes the screen to stutter.
- G-Sync, on the other hand, saves the day by improving on the drawbacks of the V-Sync. It eliminates the screen stutter and tearing issues both at the same time. Your refresh rate and frame rates match in perfect harmony. How does NVIDIA accomplish this? As Tom Petersen from NVIDIA puts it, “it’s still one of our secret sauces.” So do not overthink how the technology works. Just enjoy what it delivers.
Is there an AMD counterpart?
For long NVIDIA enjoyed its unique space with the G-Sync; however, AMD has recently released its own native technology to counter NVIDIA’s G-Sync. They are calling it the ‘Free-Sync’. Free-Sync promises to solve the screen tearing and stuttering issues like the G-Sync. Tt does not require any additional hardware and it is also an open standard thus the name ‘Free-Sync’.
The real debate is: can AMD’s Free-Sync handle smooth transition with FPS dipping lower than say 40 or 30 FPS? How smooth would it be then? How would it compensate as it does not rely on any dedicated hardware? NVIDIA’s Tom Petersen argues that their superior G-Sync hardware-run technology gives them better control of managing the screen tearing and stuttering should the FPS fall below that low end zone.
